Texas Poker Room Fees: Memberships, Hourly Time & First-Visit Cost

Published October 9, 2026 · Fees checked Oct 1 to Oct 9

Texas poker clubs do not take a rake from cash-game pots. They charge you to get in and to sit. Before a first visit, budget for both. Among the 12 rooms that publish dated fees and one hourly rate, a 4-hour first visit costs $55–$73 before your buy-in, tips, or food. Their hourly rates run $10–$14.

Every figure on this page comes from a fee record with a source link and the date we checked it. If a room does not publish a fee, we leave it out and say so; we never count a missing fee as $0. For how clubs work beyond fees (waitlists, ID, what happens when you walk in), see how private poker clubs work in Texas.

The charges you can expect

Access. Every club is a membership club. Rooms sell access by the day, week, month, quarter, or year. Where a day pass is published alongside an hourly rate, it costs $5–$10. Some rooms have no day pass, so even a single visit starts with a week of access.

Activation. A few rooms add a one-time fee the first time you join, either instead of a short pass or on top of one. It applies once, so it affects only your first visit.

Seat time. This replaces the rake: you pay for each hour you hold a seat. Rooms differ on prepaid and post-paid rates, on when the clock stops, and on discounted hours, so ask at the desk.

Exceptions. Not every room charges by the hour. Some sell day access with no time charge, and some set the rate by game or stakes.

Worked examples: a 4-hour visit

Each example uses the room's published fees. The first visit includes the cheapest published way in and any activation fee. A return visit assumes weekly or monthly access is already paid, but a day pass is bought again.

Every room with published, dated fees

13 rooms publish fees we could source and date. Each check date applies to that room only. The estimate column is blank with a reason when the room's pricing cannot be expressed as one hourly rate.

What these numbers leave out

  • Your buy-in. Fees are separate from the chips you buy.
  • Dealer tips, food, and drinks. Budget these on top.
  • Tournament entries. A tournament buy-in is priced on its own; check each event's listing in the tournament finder.
  • Discounts and bundles. Prepaid hours, free early-morning time, and all-day passes can lower the cost. Examples rooms publish:
    • The Lodge Card Club: $2 in comps for every cash-game hour; no hourly charge from 6–10 AM daily
    • Poker House Fort Worth: Five hours for $55 or ten hours for $100; free membership for veterans and first responders
    • 52 Pick Up Social: Five hours for $52; Sunday seat time is $7/hour for up to 10 hours
    • Shuffle 214: Five hours for $55 and 20 hours for $200 under the currently published bulk-time offers
Offers change and have their own terms, so we do not build them into the estimates. Current offers are on the promotions page.

Rooms that do not publish their prices

We checked these rooms' own sources and did not find enough published prices for a first-visit total. That is the room's choice, not a gap in our data, so ask at the desk before you go.

  • PH Social Club Dallas: PH Social publishes an optional $70 monthly VIP plan and a $40 all-day play offer, but not its required membership dues or hourly rate. Checked Oct 9.
  • Prime Social Poker Club: Prime Social's PokerAtlas listing shows $6 an hour for $1/$1 and $8 an hour for $1/$2 No-Limit Hold'em. Its website mentions a daily door fee but not the amount. Checked Oct 9.
  • Empire Poker Club: Empire's membership page says membership is by inquiry and lists no prices. Checked Oct 9.
  • Paramount Social Club: Paramount's PokerAtlas listing describes cash-game bonuses but lists no membership or time prices, and we found no room website. Checked Oct 9.

Rooms whose prices we have not verified yet

These rooms may publish prices; we have not checked them against a source yet, so we show no number: TCH Social Austin, Shuffle 512, Georgetown Poker Club, Texas Card House Spring, Spades Poker House Webster, Doghouse Poker Club, 101 Poker Club, Ace 1 Social Club, The Fort Card Room.

How we check fees

Each fee comes from the room's own website, labeled official, or from the room-managed PokerAtlas page the room keeps up, labeled that way. We record the date we read each source and change it only when we check again. Texas Poker Network is an independent guide; we are not affiliated with any room, tour, or series.

Prices change. If you see a fee that is out of date, send us a correction with a link to the room's current pricing.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a first visit to a Texas poker club cost?

Among the 12 rooms that publish dated fees and a single hourly rate, a first 4-hour cash-game visit costs $55–$73 in access and time charges before your buy-in, tips, or food. Rooms that do not publish fees are not included.

What is a typical hourly seat charge?

Published fixed rates at those rooms run $10–$14 per hour. Some rooms charge different rates by game or stakes, and at least one sells day access with no hourly charge, so check the room's own pricing.

Is there always a day pass?

No. Some rooms sell a day pass; others start at a week of access, and some charge a one-time activation fee instead. The worked examples on this page show each case.

Why don't you show a cost for every room?

We only estimate from fees a room publishes, at a source we have checked; the check date is ours. When a room does not publish its membership or time charges, or its rate depends on the game, we say so. When we have not checked a room's prices yet, we say that instead. Either way, a missing fee is never treated as $0.
